On connaissait le Black Metal mexicain, russe, japonais, islandais voire même iranien (?), en revanche on ignorait que le genre avait essaimé jusqu’au Sri Lanka. Pourquoi pas après tout, les (plus si) fous furieux d’Impiety viennent bien d’Indonésie, terre islamique qui plus est ! C’est donc de cette île d’Asie du Sud-Est multi culturelle que sont originaires les deux protagonistes du split Astral Mantras Of Dyslexia, étonnante production émanant du modeste mais passionné label Dunkelheit, au catalogue particulièrement cosmopolite où se cotoient Defuntos (Portugal), De Silence Et D'Ombre (France) ou Orchid (Italie).
Cimenté par un membre en commun (Chathuranga Fonseka), chanteur du premier en même temps que bassiste du second, Funeral Heaven et Plecto Aliquem Capite sont tous les deux actifs depuis quelques années sans pour autant n’avoir jamais dépasser ni le stade de la démo et du EP ni vraiment les frontières extrême-orientales. Au-delà de sa qualité (ou pas, nous y reviendrons), cette union a au moins le mérite de nous dévoiler cette micro chapelle à l’aune de la découverte de ces deux obscures formations.
Le Black Metal s’est toujours nourri d’un humus aussi bien culturel que géographique et historique, puisant son inspiration dans les légendes et le folklore national, préférant généralement les langues originelles au kiste anglo-saxon. En berçant le long titre d’ouverture, l’instrumental "Transmigtations", d’influences tribales et orientalisantes, Funeral Heaven ne fait pas autre chose. Celui-ci s’inscrit dans un cadre précis, celui du Sri Lanka dont il explore la mythologie, quand bien même ses trois autres (longues) compositions errent dans les méandres d’un Art noir d’obédience dépressive, lancinant et pollué. Exception faite du maladroit "Buddhang Saranang", aux relents presque Heavy Metal incongrus, le groupe mérite d’être découvert.
Davantage dans tous les cas que son compatriote qui lui aussi se fend d’une piste instrumentale aux couleurs orientales ("Lament") tandis que "Stoned Guru Ramblings" (au demeurant le son meilleur titre) et "Cemetary Of The Deep", à force de sonner comme une bouillie hurlante aux confins d’une stérile et insupportable cacophonie, finissent par lasser, renvoyant l’image de musiciens en roue libre qui se contentent de faire beaucoup de bruit… pour rien. A l'arrivée, un split inégal qui doit donc beaucoup à la contribution de Funeral Heaven dont on retiendra le nom... 7/10 (La Horde Noire)

Cemented by a member in common (Chathuranga Fonseka), lead singer of the first along the second bassist, and Heaven Funeral Plecto Aliquem Capite are both active in recent years without ever having not exceed either the stage of the demo and EP either really far eastern borders. Beyond its quality (or not, we will return), this union has at least the merit of revealing the micro chapel in the light of the discovery of these two obscure formations.

In all cases more than his compatriot who also splits of an instrumental track with oriental colors ("Lament") while "Stoned Ramblings Guru" (incidentally the sound better title) and "Cemetery Of The Deep", to strength to sound like a howling boiled the confines of a sterile and unbearable cacophony, become bored, reflecting the image of freewheeling musicians who are content to do a lot of noise ... for nothing. On arrival, an uneven split that has a lot to the contribution of Heaven Funeral which we note the name ... 7/10
